APC confirms suspension of Okorocha, Amosu, VON DG, others

The national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the reported suspension of the Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha, his Ogun state counterpart Ibikunle Amosun, Minister of Niger Delta, Usani Usani and the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON)
Osita Okechukwu, indefinitely.

The suspended leader if the ruling party were accused of anti-part activities.

When contacted to respond to the report, the National Publicity of APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu responded in affirmative.

He said: “A statement is in the works. I confir the above to be true.”

Blueprint learnt that the decisions were taken at the NWC meeting on Friday afternoon in Abuja where allegations of “anti-party activities” were levelled the governors.

Amosun and Okorocha were both elected senators on the platform of APC on Saturday but they are backing different candidates for the March 2 governorship election on another party’s platforms.

Both the governors had publicly declared their support for governorship candidates of other political party instead of their party, APC.

In Enugu, the VON DG was accused of working for the re-election of the PDP candidate who is the incumbent governor
